Smithway, Inc. Names Benjamin Green Vice President of Sales
Industry veteran brings more than two decades of poultry hatchery and live-haul logistics experience to lead Smithway's sales organization
FAIRVIEW, N.C. — 8/31/2026 — Smithway, a manufacturer of specialized climate-controlled transportation equipment for live-animal logistics, today announced the appointment of Benjamin D. Green as Vice President of Sales.
Green brings more than 30 years of experience in the poultry and hatchery industry. He joins Smithway from HatchTech USA, where he served as National Sales Manager coordinating sales of incubation equipment throughout the U.S. market. Prior to that, he spent nearly two decades with Cobb-Vantress, Inc., one of the world's leading primary poultry breeding companies, most recently as US Director of Hatcheries/Transportation. In that role, he directed hatchery operations and live-haul transportation logistics across seven primary breeder hatcheries nationwide, with responsibility for a workforce of more than 500 employees and an annual operating budget in excess of $50 million, supporting the production and delivery of 42 million breeder chicks per year worldwide. Earlier in his career, Green held additional leadership roles at Cobb-Vantress as North American Hatchery Specialist and Director of Hatcheries, as well as hatchery and production management positions in Georgia and Kentucky. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, with a major in Poultry Science, from the University of Georgia. In his new role, Green will lead Smithway's sales organization and manage relationships with the company's customer base of hatcheries and live-haul operators across the United States and internationally.
